Venn KempoJujitsu, termed by the founder, Pedro Bennett, as the “art of choice”, is a self defense system that focuses on the intelligence of relative movement in preparation for the possibility of an assault, using ones knowledge of body kinesthetic to react to a stimulus based on, emotions, physical abilities, the threat, the environment, and the assessment of the outcome. Venn KempoJujitsu offers one the opportunity to defend himself/herself on the ground through knowledge of ground defense; however, stand-up encounters are emphasized. In the performance of movement proper breathing is maintained. Though the self-defense system offers many unique situational scenarios, the system is constantly evolving and adapting. The system is termed the “art of choice” because with the knowledge of KempoJujitsu one has the general ability to control his or her environment and actions through controlled compliance, and engaging and disengaging situations as they expressed. Patience, focus, diligence, citizenship, and education are driven by the training and conditioning of the mind and body, which generates a peaceful spirit. Andrew (U.S. Marine Corps) "I had understood that it was more than just a self defense you were trying to teach us and now having done more in this past year with the Marine Corps than I did in all four years of high school, I can appreciate the value of things such as self discipline, self control and judgment." MacKenzie (U.S Navy) -Police "So the other day we were all doing training in the gym doing handcuffing, and I was like, that stuff wouldn't work on me, so they go this big guy, and they had him try to do it to me. I ended up grabbing his hand, flipping him over my shoulder and drove my shoulder into his chest, then I put him in a classic Pedro Bennett arm bar. It was funny. A lot of people were asking me where I learned to fight and stuff. We did some strikes and kicks and stuff and a lot of people were interested. It made me think of the old days, it was awesome. So, I took out my gloves, shin pads, and boxing shoes and hit the bag for a little while." |
