Ex-Police Officer - Educator - Martial Arts
Pedro Bennett is the founder of Pedro Bennett School of Self Defense. Most of his martial arts experience is in Kempojujitsu / Kickboxing. After leaving the Cobb County, Georgia Police Department in 1995, he became a certified chemistry teacher. He previously taught in Boston, Brockton, and New Bedford Massachusetts, in addition to teaching in the Cobb County School District, Marietta, Ga. He taught self-defense as a credited course for a short time at Curry College, Milton, Massachusetts. He is presently a science teacher in a local North Carolina Public School as well as a faculty member of the University of Phoenix, teaching critical thinking. Previously, he has developed an online leadership program for Dean College, Franklin, Massachusetts. He has a BS in Chemistry and a Masters of Education; currently, he is a doctoral candidate in organizational leadership. He has additional martial arts training in Shootfighting, Kenpo Karate, Kenpo-Jujitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, and Ki Development/Chi Kung. He trained in Shootfighting under the direct guidance of World Heavy Weight Shootfighting Champion, Bart Vale. Pedro was a first generation instructor in the International Shootfighting Association (ISFA). He believes a true martial artist will learn how to defend him or herself both in the standing position and on the ground. He is currently developing and modifying his own system of self-defense (Venn KempoJujitsu - The Art of Choice).
